Q3 Spanish up-date
All the students are learning vocabulary related to hobbies, sports, school, cultural activities and telling time. 3rd and 4th grade students continue to learn how to put sentences together in Spanish and how to use adjectives to describe the activities they do. They also continue to practice their pronunciation each class and how to use Spanish in conversations. 4th and 5th graders are doing more verb conjugation practice and learning how to apply this in the context of their writing about a topic, like school.
3rd grade is learning about Honduras, 4th grade about México and 5th grade about El Salvador.
Each grade has a packet that they work from during class (in addition to their workbook). I have included a link to it in this email if you’d like to have a copy at home. Most students don’t bring Spanish homework home, because they often finish it in class or Lyceum, but many students will benefit from practicing their vocabulary a couple times a week at home. You may use this packet or Quizlet for that practice.
Want your student to practice more Spanish at home?
Quizlet is a great place to let them practice their vocabulary. Students are given a vocab packet each quarter that gives them the vocab lists we are working on for that quarter. For Quarter 3, we are working through the 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4 vocab lists.
